Information Session – Market Consultation on Immersive Experience Solutions for the Dutch Police
The Dutch police operate in a rapidly changing society and seek innovative ways to improve officer training and enhance data-driven operations. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science (OCW) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), a market consultation is being organized to explore how immersive technologies (IX) – such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) – can support police work.
Challenges in Police Work
Officers face complex and rapidly evolving situations daily. This presents two major challenges:
Faster and More Effective Training
Traditional training methods require significant time and resources. There is a need for realistic, flexible, and efficient training solutions.
Smarter Data Utilization
The police rely on a wide range of information sources, but existing methods for processing and using real-time data are often cumbersome and outdated. Innovative solutions are needed to enhance these capabilities.
Sought-after Innovations
This market consultation seeks IX solutions that:
- Can be independently created and adapted by the police
- Realistically simulate various scenarios
- Integrate and utilize data in real-time
- Are user-friendly and effective for police operations
Such innovations could contribute to quick access to and processing of information, training officers in realistic virtual environments, and improving operational decision-making using advanced visual representations of environmental data.
Information & Consultation Session
To further explore these challenges, a free information and consultation session will be held in Utrecht on March 27. This session offers entrepreneurs, technology experts, and developers the opportunity to contribute ideas on the future of immersive technology in policing. The session will provide insights into the technical and economic challenges and the feasibility of such solutions.
Who Should Attend?
This session is intended for innovative entrepreneurs, developers, and technology companies interested in shaping the future of police work through immersive technologies. Participation in the market consultation is voluntary and does not affect future participation in the Innovation Impact Challenge.
